Folk and fun! This folksy antique Victorian skirt has the sweetest embroidered floral detail across the waist and hem. Originally it would have been part of a European folk outfit! With such care given to the handsewn embroidery and pleats, it was clearly very special to someone. This is a very rare example of Victorian finery, and even more rare to be in good condition with strong embroidery. Ready to be displayed and treasured for another 100 years! Provenance: From the collection of a Civil War historian, all his antiques were mid 19th century and cared for in accordance with museum standards. Condition: Antique. A few age related tears with one repair. Clasp and embroidery remains strong and intact.
