Mint! Studio Art Ceramic Pottery Ray Gross Realistic/Whimsical Large Pipe Wrench

Here is an excellent example of a studio art pottery piece by Ray Gross, a ceramic pottery sculpture of a large pipe wrench, one of a series of sculptures of tools he created in the late 1990s/early 2000s. One piece, in fire engine red and black gloss glaze, with a portion of the underside a white gloss. Handle marked "RIGID", to mimic RIDGID. Ray Gross is known for hand-built, hand-painted, hyper-realistic or whimsical ceramic sculptures depicting objects of everyday Americana, including utilitarian art objects such as paint cans, tubes, brushes, pencils, and tools. Often playing with scale as understatements and overstatements, Ray’s work involves completely handmade process from the beginning of construction to the final surface details of painting and glazing elements.
