Product Description
These Vintage 20th Century German Grafenthal Gilded Bisque Porcelain Figurines were likely made between 1946 - 1987 when the German Democratic Republic (GDP) was governing East Germany. My understanding is that these were made in the 19th Century molds with more modern markings. The two figurines are in Good Condition. They have no damage, chips, cracks or repairs, except for the foot of the female figurine which was broken and is missing (see photos). The Gentleman is playing the flute in courtship to the Elegantly Dressed Lady, both sitting in chairs at a height of about 5 inches. The markings on the rear of the chairs is very difficult to read, but my best try seems to look like both have GDR markings which would date them between 1946 and 1987. The most clear date looks to be "1982" but that is just educated guesswork. I have posted many photos of the markings, so please make your best estimate of what they are. If you can decipher them, let me know. I have reduced cost due to the marking uncertainty and the broken foot. Please bid accordingly or make me an offer. These were inherited from our Aunt, who enjoyed fine porcelain figurines. I am not a figurine expert, so please review my descriptions and all photos before bidding or making an offer, to insure you understand the condition and all of the markings and what you are bidding on.
